Operation Elveden is linked to Operation Weeting, the investigation into mobile phone hacking Police investigating corrupt payments have released on bail a Sun journalist and a police officer.The 37-year-old journalist was arrested at his home in north London on Tuesday morning as part of Operation Elveden. A police officer, 29, was also arrested at his home in Sussex.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to corrupt and conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office.
They were later released on bail until November.
The Metropolitan Police's Operation Elveden was set up to investigate alleged inappropriate payments to police and public officials by journalists.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Today's arrests are the result of information provided to police by News Corporation's Management Standards Committee.

Some 43 people have been arrested as part of Operation Elveden, being run in conjunction with Operation Weeting, which is looking into phone hacking.
The investigation is being supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
